“A standout Saint-Emilion in my tastings was the 2015 Croix De Labrie owned by Axelle & Pierre Courdurié, which readers must be snapping up on. Made from 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, it offers a superb nose of creme de cassis and black raspberry mixed with notes of toasted oak and espresso.With a medium to full-bodied palate and richness on the palate, ripe tannins and an excellent mid-palate, it has needs 3 to 4 years in the bottle to integrate with the oak and gain in complexity, and keep it for more than two decades.
